| | Daisy Roy Rogers and Dusty Rogers Gun | It’s been six years since the last of the three gun series of Daisy Roy Rogers guns were sold out. First, there was Roy and Trigger, followed by Roy and Dale, then Roy and Gabby Hayes.
This Daisy Roy Rogers and Dusty Rogers gun, commemorating the special relationship between Roy Rogers and his son Roy Rogers, Jr., is predicted to sell out quickly to gun enthusiasts, Daisy collectors and Roy Rogers fan club members and collectors.
The design of the packaging, the style of the gun’s walnut stock, inset medallion and laser engraved serially-numbered forearm, are in keeping with the three previous guns. And, just like the previous Roy Rogers guns, only 2,500 will be made. Included in the package is a certificate of authenticity and an exclusive single-cut CD in an attractive sleeve. The CD contains Dusty’s touching single recording, “King of the Cowboys” which he wrote in loving honor of his famous father.
Roy (Dusty) Rogers, Jr., son of the “King of the Cowboys” and “Queen of the West” grew up in a home with two of the most famous and admired people of Saturday morning television and the silver screen. Roy Sr.’s legendary music and film career date to the early 1930s. The famous Roy Rogers TV show, with a cast of characters including Roy Sr., Dale, Trigger, Buttermilk Bullet, Nellybelle, Gabby Hayes, Smiley Burnette and Pat Brady, was popular from 1951 to 1957 and then aired in reruns for years. Roy and Dale were known worldwide as strong American patriots, advocates of children’s rights and of the second amendment, and believers in honesty, integrity and Christian family values.
“Dad loved shooting and taught me gun safety and how to shoot ping pong balls with my first Daisy BB gun”, states Dusty. “This lever action Daisy is a great way to salute our special relationship.” | Item RDGun | (Shipping: 5 lbs.) | Price $59.95 | |
| | Daisy Assembly Relocation Announcement Gun | On June 20th, 2007, 2:00 PM, at a wonderful ceremony under the restored Daisy sign, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe, our mayor and chamber executives joined Daisy President Ray Hobbs to announce that "Daisy is coming home to Rogers, Arkansas". We are moving the assembly operation from Neosho, Missouri into the warehouse in which our corporate office have been housed since 1999. Everyone who drives by here has, for eight years, thought we're making Daisy BB guns in here and, beginning in late August, they will be correct! This is a tremendous opportunity for the company to have all of our operations under one roof. To open his speech to a crowd of about 160, comprised of community leaders and Daisy retirees and friends, Ray read from Cass Hough's book, "It's a Daisy" in which Cass talked about the strong work ethic of the people in this town of (in 1958) 4,000. Rogers has grown tremendouly since then but some things don't change. This is still a great place to work and live. On the cue of Ray's words, "We're coming home!" a banner unfurled below the stage that read, "Rogers Welcomes Daisy Home". Several members of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, the Mayor and Chamber President were presented specially engraved Red Ryders showing the Daisy Boy, the old Daisy BB Gun sign and the diamond of the Arkansas State flag. (Governor Mike Beebe's gun was engraved especially for him and said "Beebe Gun" instead of BB Guns.) Our mayor stated, "It's not a red letter day for Rogers, it's a Red Ryder day."
The Daisy Museum now offers a limited edition of 1,000 guns, laser engraved Red Ryders, with the same engraving on the stock as these dignitaries received. It commemorates the date, June 20, 2007 as the day Daisy announced that we're coming home to Rogers. A certificate of authenticity is included.
