A 25-foot landmark sculpture — and the ultimate selfie stop in Northwest Arkansas.
Some of you may remember travelling the country on two-lane roads in station wagons. Larger-than-life, must-see tourist attractions drew travelers off the road for photo opportunities.
There’s the world’s largest ball of twine in Kansas, catsup bottle in Illinois, Peanut in Georgia, Blue Whale in Oklahoma, Paul Bunyan in Minnesota, Cowboy Hat in Washington, Uniroyal Tire in Michigan, Tea Pot in West Virginia, Gnome in New York, World’s Largest Pecan in Texas, and the giant Louisville Slugger baseball bat leaning against their museum in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. On a Wikipedia state-by-state listing of World’s Largest Roadside Attractions, Arkansas had no listing. We had a big idea.

In August of 2019, we had a big idea! Knowing that Daisy was to BB guns what Louisville Slugger was to the game of baseball, the Daisy Museum approached the City of Rogers about commissioning the creation of the World’s Largest Daisy BB Gun.
With the advent of the cell phone camera and the “selfie”, these larger-than-life roadside attractions might be deemed more attractive than ever.
Daisy has been “At Home in Rogers Since 1958.” On both sides of the forearm of this 25-foot tall Daisy BB gun are those words. The left side of the stock bears the Red Ryder logo as it appeared in 1940 while the right side features today’s logo. The stock of the gun is weighted with 180 pounds of Daisy BBs.

In August 2019, when we first broached the subject, three important community leaders reacted with much the same words:
“That’s so cool.”
Mayor Hines“That’s so cool.”
Raymond Burns“That’s so cool.”
J.R. ShawOur museum staff, our Friends of the Daisy Museum, and our board all believe that tourism is big business in Rogers, Arkansas. Thousands of people, for whom a Daisy BB gun was their first BB gun, already come to Rogers to experience the Daisy Airgun Museum. It’s our honor to give them one more big reason to come to our hometown.
